BGSU 1910: FIRST YEAR SEMINAR – FALL 2019

MEET THE DOCUMENT:

Viva Toledo Economic Development Proposal, May 14, 1970.

OBSERVE ITS PARTS:

The Ohio Hispanic Institute of Opportunity wrote the proposal on May 14, 1970. The proposal focused on the Viva Toledo Economic Development project. Its goal was to increase the financial and socioeconomic resources in the Toledo area. The original author is not listed, but Barbara Mann is the contact person for the project.

TRY TO MAKE SENSE OF IT:

The Ohio Hispanic Institute of Opportunity is a social services organization for Latinx communities in Ohio. It increases economic, social, educational, and spiritual circumstances for the Latinx community, especially immigrants. Their goal is to aid in the integration and assimilation into their community.

USE IT AS HISTORICAL EVIDENCE:

The proposal taught me about the purpose, goals, and importance of the Ohio Hispanic Institute of Opportunity. It taught me the importance of this organization and its functions for Latinx communities. To further understand this organization, I will research it more and hopefully get information from various sources and first-hand accounts of what this organization has done for the community.
